Barrel horse dipping his head

Hey I need some help. My barrel horse has been doing this thing for a while where when we are at the back side of the turn he will "dip" his nose in towards his chest. It seems to interfere with our runs and is costing us time because after "the dip" it takes extra time to get up and out of the turns. Any help or tips would be great! Thank you!

Without seeing a video can't make a good guess, but I would wonder if your trying to hold him into the backside with your hand while he falls out of the turn through the shoulder and or hip. If you over bend him trying to keep him tight on the backside and he's too much on the forehand without any backend control he will swing out with his butt causing loss of power in the turn.
