Fun Braid ideas?
Does anyone have any good braid- ideas for the English jumper show string?
I`m very uncreative when it comes to hair, any braiding tips would be great.
What kind of mane/tail does your horse have?

Umm, if you have a mane that's ~1 ft, you can fish net braid it, not really a braid but looks really good!
Does the show require a certain few types of braids?
Does the show require a certain few types of braids? What kind of restrictions are there?
If the show allows it, and you have a fairly long mane, I really like the look of Dutch running braids!
If you know how to make a regular running braid, a Dutch running braid is the same thing except instead of crossing the outside strand OVER the middle one, you cross it UNDER it. This makes it look like a full braid instead of it just looking woven on the bottom if that makes sense to you.
If you don't know how to do a running braid, all you do is start at the top of the mane, grab a section and divide it into three parts and start your braid like a normal braid. Then, every time you cross over a piece you add to it. It's essentially the horse equivalent of making a French braid on yourself.
Agree, info on mane (pics!) and type of show
Here's a link to a previous forum discussion on this that may give you more ideas: http://www.horseforum.com/horse-groo...-horses-72465/
What type and level of show is it? If you are doing a rated show, it may be best to stick with something traditional.
Get the book Braiding Manes and Tails. It has lots of great ideas!
And step by step instructions and pictures!
