Clipper use?
So my boy Murray is somewhat skidditsh around certian things. I would like to clip his legs but don't know if he'll do well with clippers just yet.

How would I introduce him to clippers? He shys away from flyspray now (so now I just brush flyspray on with my hands or a brush) so don't want to come up and attack him with clippers.

I'm having a little clipping troubles with my gelding at that moment as well. He currently starts tweaking when he feels just one whisker being cut. I'm trying to start him on just using scissors first to get him used to that snipping sensation on his nose. But first let him get used to the clippers without them on. Run it all over his body gradually and let him sniff them. Have lots of treats handy as well. Reward any accepting behavior towards the clippers that you can obsereve...even if its just him standing still when you turn them on. Once you turn them on however I suggest to turn away from him and ignore him for a few seconds and almost let him get curious enough to let him come to you. Again, rewards and praise for this behavior. :)

Have someone stand by his head and keep his attention and feed him some treats. Try to have a reasonably quiet pair of clippers. Just take it slowly. Try the front legs a little...see how he responds...lots of pats and praise...if he dances around, you could try holding his leg and clipping what you need to...just really take your time...good luck!
