At home massage?

I found this website with video clips of how to give your horse an "at home" massage:

I was curious to see if any of you do this, and if so, what kind of results you get? I'm thinking of trying it out on my mares.

just from my personal experience: my horse loves a nice neck massage after a hard work out. i've been asking him to push forward and drop his head now that we're in the more advanced stages of training, but that makes his neck muscles sore. so i discovered that he absolutely loves that muscle that runs along the top of his neck massaged. he'll drop his head and go right to sleep. and i think it helps the muscles recover faster from the work out. if your horse does a lot with her neck, you could try that and see if she likes it

It can be beneficial if done right. If done incorrectly, however, massage can do more harm than good.
