First Riding Show
So in about a month and a half, I will be doing my first proper riding show. I've done a few training shows before but I get really nervous. Does anyone have any tips on how to control my nerves and feel confident and prepared?
Thanks in advance

I used to go to a show with a mindset of a dressed up practice ride.
Go not with "I am competing against others" but with a I am riding to better myself and my horse.

Deep breathe when astride and the biggest for me was to enjoy myself.
This is supposed to be fun...if it isn't then you need to re-evaluate what and why you are doing this...make changes so it does become fun and enjoyable.

Smile, deep breath and ride to enjoy yourself and meet new friends.

WEll I show all the time and I don't know I always found that once I started trotting I was focusing completly on getting my pony going well and "forgot" to be nervous anymore. If I get nervous nowadays at a big show beforehand I allways say to myself its just another show. But thats not much use to you :P Deep breathes out allways helps and just try to really focus on your horse. If you are get nervous in the upcoming days "kalms" are a really good herbal medicine (only used them on my first trip to RDS riding) and on the day rescue remedy helped me when I was little and really nervous. Don't know if thats any help but I'm sure you'll be fine just remember deep breathes, smaile and have fun!!!
