Ranch days -pic overload-
Howdy everyone, heres a few pics of me and some of our horses =)
Ninja as a 22-month-old. Ninja was stuck in a round pen in the middle of the desert with no water or shelter. The only thing he could use for shade was a snubbing post that he was tied to 87 percent of the time. His owner was a teenage girl who though highly of herself as a "breaker". Well, she broke him. His spirit was almost completely nonexistent when we got him. With love, nourishment, tons of TLC and his manhood wacked off, Ninja is now a happy and healthy two-year-old. He's a gorgeous black (and he's roaning out!!) mustang.
Jack chasing Ninja, Ninja chasing Rosy, and poor Rosy is running like hell!
This is Shrek. He's a four year old, Bay mustang. He's a sweet heart.
I love you Shrek, I love you Ninnie! I hope y'all are having a blast in Carolina! Theres not a day that goes by that I don't miss both of you're smelly asses and sloppy kisses! I love my boys <3
This is Rosy, she's a rescued BLM burro. When she first came here she hated everyone. She just liked her solitude and was wild as hell. Now she's a sweet and affectionate watch burro!!! Mosy Rosy, as we call her, is as sweet as sugar and loved to pet pet and played with. She would climb up in your lap if she could. She keeps the coyotes off the property. Oh, and she's fun to chase around. She's a fatty, she needs her exersize too! During feeding, she'll stare up at you like she's starving. So we sometimes call her "The starving indonesian child..." because she acts as if she's never been fed before. haha
And this is Cricket. She is MY horse. My very first horse all to my own. 100 percent completely mine. She's an appendix mare and my love. After my boys left, my heart was broken, but she's filling the space in my heart quite nicely. Although it can never be completely replaced, she's just taking up a place all of her own. I'm so proud of her. This is the day I got her. She's getting a bit fatter now and more muscle after constant lunging. I havent ridden her yet. She needs more muscle on her top line.
These pics are a more recent. She's broke but still green. My friend/trainer told me that the lady said that Cricket didn't stand while getting saddled. She said she pulled and reared and freaked out. Supposedly she was very flighty and prancy. Well, it was true. But after about a week of working with her, now she stands very still and relaxed while I put a saddle on her to lunge.
Here she is saddled in the Billy Cook. Right now it's the only thing that fits her alright. I still keep forgetting to bring my Circle Y out to see if it fits. I think she might be too high withered though.
And a yawn
She says "Moooom I want to doooo someting!!! No more standin' around!"
Lemme know what y'all think!
They are all sooo adorable!
Beautiful horses and such a sweet looking burro!
Looks like you and Cricket share a great bond.
Thanks so much! Ninja was an ass when we first got him. He was very food agressive (Gee, I wonder...) and would attack you every time you went in to feed him. He also had no ground manners because he had never been taught. We had to work with him alot to get him to where he is today. I'm very proud of him. He's almost three now and were waiting a few more years to start riding him. However we've thrown a saddle on him a few times just to lunge and he does great.
Cricket is still learning some manners. She's in LOVE with the burro. They adore eachother. It's really sweet.
I'm gonna get some more pictures today when I go out. I'm keeping a picture journal of her progress and I can't wait to look back on it to see how far she's come. =)
what a bunch of cutie-pies! The, "With love, nourishment, tons of TLC and his manhood wacked off" statement cracked me up. I'm still LMAO
aw i love the burrow. I want one so bad
