Fun with grids!

My new trainer has been having Sandie and I work on jumping through grids, which has been very helpful for both of us! For me, it's helped me not to anticipate the jumps and to "just ride them" instead and not get ahead of Sandie. For her, it's teaching her to "think on her feet" and carry herself over the jumps...once I get her to the base safely and securely of course ;-)

Here's a video of the other day, I decided to jump the grid bareback - it was SO much fun!! :D

Enjoy! Oh and for those of you who don't know Sandie and I, here are questions we normally get asked haha!

* I started jumping: 4 mos ago
* Sandie started jumping: 4 mos ago
* I'm 29 and Sandie is 8
* I've had Sandie for 10 months, she was a rescue, and I've been riding for 3 1/2 years now
* I'm 5'1" and Sandie is 14.1hh :-)

Great riding! :)
We're probably going to do grids in my next lesson. :) I can't wait! :D

I want to do grids really badly- they look so fun! But I doubt G is ready for anything like that yet- so I might have to wait until I find another horse.
You and Sandie look great! :D

Thanks!! :-) Grid work is fabulous both for me AND Sandie as well...but today my trainer threw another side into this grid work business...she made me jump the grid with NO REINS!!! She made me drop the reins at the ground pole before the first jump and ride the whole thing without them! Needless to say it wasn't my most fabulous riding haha...but her point was to make me rely more on my balance in my legs and core and less on my arms/upper body over these smaller cross rails.

grids are so much fun! I did one the other day and Remi did so well.
Good job with the bare back jumping, couldn't watch the video though (sucky dialup). But I don't have the guts to do bareback jumping xD.

Thanks drafteventer! Aren't they SO MUCH FUN?! :-) Since you couldn't watch the video, here's a still shot of it (last jump of the grid)! Kinda fuzzy but you get the idea!

Nice! Thanks for posting the pic, we don't have good highspeed internet here yet.
By the way your horse is really cute :3, I love the color!.
