Put Sis down today.
Well, she has been having problems for a while. Something was wrong with her hip and she wasn't able to put any weight on her hind leg. She got along okay until today. We couldn't get her up and she refused to eat or drink anything. I guess that was her way of telling us it was time. The vet gave her the shot this morning and now she is buried out there beside old Buck. I have known it was coming for a while but that doesn't make it any easier. She was 27 years old and had raised 2 kids and 2 colts. She lived a good long life and was incredibly loved. Today was the first time in a long time that I saw my brother cry.:cry: She had more heart in her little bitty body than most horses twice her size and was perfectly happy to do anything you asked regardless of how hard or silly it may have seemed to her. If a horse could smile, she would have always been smiling (sometimes in joy, sometimes with that gleam of conspiracy in her eye). God bless you Sis, you and Buck keep things in line up there until the rest of us can come to play okay? I wish now that I had more pictures of her from when she was young but I can't seem to find any. :-(
I love you Sis and I will see you again someday..... http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...g?t=1250793759 http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...g?t=1250793583

Thank you all. Yep, we got her about 20 years ago and she survived both me and my brother. We were both hell on horses when we were growing up but she never complained. She was a true gem. Sometimes when she felt you not paying attention, she would start to crow hop. After just a couple of ducking and diving jumps, she would stop. If you fell off, she would just look at you on the ground like "Wellll, what are you doing down there??? :?" and if you rode it, she would turn her head and look like she had a big grin "Hehe, I was just testing you. LOL." She taught me so much. :,,)
