silly question about upgrading a computer that has had the operating system crash.
I find myself with a few questions about exactly what is needed to fix my mothers computer.
A short while ago my mothers computer suffered a unrecoverable (her words) crash. I would like to try to fix her computer. The day after it crashed she ran a diagnostic on the computer and was told that the operating system she was running was kaput! I think she was running windows XP, but I could be wrong (maybe Vista) she is in Covington KY. and I'm in Arizona. long story short she needs a new operating system.
That's my hang-up! I am unsure of exactly what type software she needs! She wants to go from XP or (vista) to Windows 7. what I do know is that she's running 32 bit, What disks does she need? I keep seeing the full package disks, disks for refurbished computers, even reboot disks (already excluded). Please Help I'm confused as to what to buy to fix the computer. I'm leaning toward getting the full system disks, but I'm not sure so I thought I would ask. I need to get the software purchased soon and I need help with the decision. If I had the money I would just buy a new computer as it would be easier.
