Question on Champagne gene.
Sarah's mother is a classic champagne tobiano. Is it possible that Sarah may carry a copy of the gene? If I were to breed her in the future would it be possible to get a champagne foal?
Here is a cool calculator if you haven't come across it already. Color Calculator
It would depend on whether she is hetero or homozygous. She would have 50/50 shot of throwing the gene if she is hetero. I am not sure how that gene dilutes - I know palomino dilutes red hair, silver dilutes black -.
I can't see the photos (blocked at work). But, unless she's something like a double dilut where it's really hard to tell WHAT she is, if she has champagne it will show. If not, then no, she cannot pass it on as she doesn't have it.
You can learn all about champagne here: Champagne Horse Color - International Champagne Horse Registry - Information about and Registering Champagne color horses. Breeding for and buying or selling horses with this dilution gene. Education of the public and the equine world about champagne
