This made me LOL!
This was in my America's Horse magazine that arrived today. It really gave me a chuckle...
"When I was about 5, my older sister and I decided that ponies were the center of the universe. We became ponies, jumping over stumps in the forest, whinnying and stamping all through the backyard, down the driveway and along the road. Later, we humbly bowed our heads to receive the invisible Olympic medals we awarded each other: gold for my sister, silver for me. At bedtime, we read about horses.
"We thought the best book ever written was 'Jill Enjoys Her Ponies'. All this happiness came to an abrupt halt when I was 7 and our parents bought us a living, breathing pony. Bobby was 4 years old, with a dirty white coat, the build of a soccer ball and the soul of Charles Manson."
~Author, Lisa Jones in "Broken" A Love Story"
I Don't Get It:S
that was cute.
LOL, that's funny.
That is great!
I did the same thing - I used to pretend I was a horse ALLLLLL the time. I even would get on my 4's and make my hands into a fist to mimic hooves, and I would gallop around my house and rearing and whinnying.
I would be out in the forrested areas on our property, doing just as she did - whinnying and galloping around jumping things I could jump.
The funniest part - is her comment about the Chares Manson pony. LOL - guess she figured out HER Pony wasn't the greatest thing.
Very cute! Thanks for sharing!
"Soul of Charles Manson" LOL. Thats funny. I never pretended to be a horse, because I've always had them, but I imagine I would have if I didn't.
LaurenOscar, Charles Manson was a horrible serial killer. If you goggle him you'll find out all about him. The author was relating how the real life pony turned out to be quite... bad ;)
We used to be horses too, and have mock horse shows. I can remember doing lots of "lead changes" as I cantered around the ring pretending to be a horse :)
i use to play "horse" with my sister. she would put the long dog leash around my arm and "lunge" me. then she would comb and style my hair for the "shows". we use to jump over things in the yard as well. brings a tear to my eye to think about those days.
LMAO!!! That's about the funniest thing I've read in a while! I about choked on my coffee.
I think a lot of ponies have been Manson-incarnates. At least the ones I've run into.
LOL! That's was awesome!
