How SHOULD you look when landing?
Anyone have pictures of good form when landing?
Searching through photos this is probably the best one I foundhttp://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...0Mine/cute.gif. Even then she shouldn't have her eyes on the ground. When landing from a jump you need to be sure to have your toe and knee aligned, have a slight arch in your back, be looking up at your next jump, and key: have your HEELS down.
The biggest problem, even Olympic riders typically blunder upon is keeping those heels down. Just remember, you need to be sitting up with tall hands in order for your horse to remain balanced off any jump.
Good luck! Hope this helps! You might want to check out George Morris's book "Hunt Seat Eq.". It is really a great book for learning how to have a great seat in h/j.
Here is a link to the book on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Hunter-Seat-Equitation-George-Morris/dp/0385413688/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253840941&sr=8-4

I just started jumping so it doesnt really make a difference yet.
ok well good luck to ya!
You are in luck! My Husband has such a phenominal talent of catching my horse and I, on the landing motion, when he attempts to take pics of us compeating.
You must remain off of your horses back. Period.
This picture, I sat too soon:
Thanks guys this helped me alot as well as my main problem is staying in the posistion I should have over the jump when Chinga lands, or I sit "back" to early. So its like when your horses front feet are on the ground you should go back to your normal flat work position?
I have some pictures of me landing that I think look okay
You want to stay off your horse's back until his HIND legs land on the ground. If you sit back down while his hind is still in the air you're going to affect his jump.
