Itchy runny eyes?

Last year about this time Lacey's eyes started getting super runny (watery and white stuff) and she wanted them to be scratched all the time. I figured it was a fluke but now it's happening again. >.<
She doesn't really want the eyelids to be touched but she's fine with rubbing them on me (not allowed but every once in a while I look away and she goes all ninja).
I've been putting her fly mask on everyday and checking her eyes everyday and the irritation seems to be significantly less with the flymask on but they're still irritated.

Could she be allergic to something?

I really need to get her a checkup with the vet but I haven't been able to save enough money yet between paying for books (for class) and gas to get to school since my van (yes, I'm awesome, I drive a gangster 1991 Ford Areostar, hahahaha) is a hardcore gas guzzler. >.<

Any ideas in the interim to help her be more comfy? She's never stalled and I rinse the flymask out everyday so it's clean.

Sounds like conjunctivitis. Get some clear eye to put in there and if its really bad you need antibiotic eye drops from your vet. I can usually just call my vet and he will let me come in and pick it up without a visit. I think its always worse in fall and spring. I swear flies are nasty this time of year because its cooling off and they are getting their last in before they die

It could be the flies (they are no longer bad around here) or an allergy, too.
Does she eat from round bales? I've seen a lot of horses get 'hay eye' irritation from eating from the middle of round bales, and we just rinse them out with some generic natural tears type eye drops.

Thanks! The flies really aren't that bad anymore. I mean they're still there and one or two is always on Lacey when I'm working with her but her face isn't covered in a billion flies like it is during the summer. She's so weird, they crawl all over her face but she never shakes them off. >.<
No she doesn't eat from a round bale. They had one in late July but it was gone by the middle of August.

itchy runny eyes

bathe in cold camomille tea as it is an antiinflammatory

My paint foal Ruffles always has a bit of a weepy eye, we dont know why. It doesn't seem to bother her much but sometimes my mum puts this stuff on it to help, im not sure what it is.

When my horse had leaking eye I did strong tea (preferably with chamomile) and cleaned my horse's eye twice/day. It's cheap and it worked for me.

I'll have to try that!

do you know how to flush out her nasolacrimal duct? My guy has been itchy and dusty lately too and it makes a big difference.
