Curious On Markings

4 Attachment(s)
Hello Everyone!

I'm purchasing a 2012 Paint Overo Filly this Spring and was curious on her white markings.

The best pictures I have to show her markings are her foal/weanling pictures. I was also thinking of getting her tested to see what is she carrying, any suggestions?:D

I'd say frame and sabino for sure. But I'm no expert :)

Definitely frame without a doubt and probably has some form of sabino. If you wanted to color test you can check for agouti. Since she is sorrel she is for sure homozygous red ee. You can test frame aka Lethal White but those jagged irregular markings, top heavy blaze, and fairly solid legs are all typical frame traits. Sabino I doubt is testable in this case.

If you ever plan to breed her I would test the frame anyways just to be 100% sure.

I don't plan to breed, I'm just curious on which white pattern/gene caused her markings :)

Thank you all to replied :)

Frame and sabino. You could test for splash if you were really curious, but it's not jumping out at me. Because of the sabino, she'll probably end up looking rather roany when she gets older.
