How old is this horse? He looks like he is graying not a roan.

Gray, not roan. Roan does not put white on the face or change the color of the tail like this one. Brown base, but will continue to change colors for years to come.

He is 10-11 yrs, my Ferrier had thought we had bought our daughter a new horse. Does kind of look like an old man. Thanks for your replys, I'm not so good at colors.

Have you had his teeth checked to confirm his age? Because his current stage of graying is much more likely in a 3-4 year old horse. It's possible he's just extremely slow to gray, just uncommon.

I haven't had him checked yet, I bought him from a good friend who owned him about 8 years. He rescued the horse from a goat pen as an 18 month old.

I would say slow gray. He might be white before he is 20 but at this rate maybe not.

Nevermind then. I was assuming he was a newer purchase because I misread your comment. He must just be a slow gray.

Pretty horse! Looks to be a dark bay going grey (also called rose grey), nice horse. I would say, judging from the greying process, that he is a fairly young horse.
