How do endurance riders usually ride the trot? Do they post or do some kind of standing trot?

I would guess post, but I"m not sure ;)

Both. I stand in my stirrups while going up and down hills. In a full extension I find it hard to sit so I usually post.

If you stand in your stirrups do you put some weight on the horn with your hand or do you have perfect balance?
Does that ever put too much weight over the horse's front shoulder? Also, if you are standing going down hill is there extra danger if the horse trips that you might launch over their head? Thanks for your answers!
