Saddle Fit Hey. I just bought a new Collegiate Convertible. It has a changeable gullet system. I was wondering, how far/how much room should there be from the top of thier whithers to the top of the gullet. There's space inbetween his whithers and the gullet, like, 1 inch or so, and I was wondering if I should buy a new gullet thingy for it. |
Usually I think people say 4 fingers worth of room. But there should be as much room as possible. A saddle that is a 'little' too wide is better for the horse anyway. It allows for the shoulders and back to flex more. Of course you don't want it too wide  |
I don't know if I would consider it too wide, or whatnot. But it fits on his whithers, but has about 1 or 2 inches of space above them....idk... |
