One of Those Days...:)
So yesterday i went to moms so i could mess with Dom... GAH! he is such a grouchy old man! I know it was cold and wet but geez it was like every time i asked him to do anything he'd sigh at me in this "Geez you HAD to pick today to mess with me" exasperated kind of way. He did it like with every step though!!! Then he acted like he was an abused animal or something every time i moved too quickly for him, he stuck his head up REALLY high when i tried to halter him, GRRRR! Just a grump... I even stood out there after id worked him on the ground a bit (EASY stuff like basic ground manners) and scraped all the water from his coat so he'd warm up and he was still grumpy. Its just wierd for me cause ive always had mares and heard geldings are supposed to be much more even tempered... Just thought id vent a bit...
We all have blah days when we just want to be left alone. Yesterday may have been one of those blah days for him. Good for you for still working with him though and letting him know that even though he's in a bad mood he still needs to do what's asked of him.
The next time you go out to see him I'm sure he'll be in a better mood!!
Yeahit was just one of those bad days. It doesnt help he is a very dominant animal, though we have removed him from our little herd to do more one on one with out him worrying about the others... hes still just a generally grumpy guy, but i yuv him anyway!
My pony is terrible to work with when the flies are bugging him. It's like he loses all concentration on what i'm trying to do with him! It's even worse when he's sweating while i'm working him and it's dripping down and he starts kicking at it....he's a bad pony lol
