Horse hair bracelets?
One of the horses at my barn that I care for daily passed away of a heart attack this morning. His owner is out of state until next month, and never got to say goodbye. I kept some of his tail hair, but it's not extremely long, since he was a draft. I am trying to find someone that can make me 3 simple braided bracelets with a clasp. I just need to know how much it would cost, who can do it, and where to send the hair. Thank you.

OOO Wendy , I am so sorry ...That draft was so sweet the night I met him : (

There was someone who was making and selling the bracelets on here. Let me see if I can find her name for you.

xoxo sorry

Thank you Amy. I appreciate the info and also the kind words. It's definitely been a very hard day.

I really like the bracelets in the above link, however I can't afford to have 3 made at that price. Is there anyone that can do the same or very similar(no charms needed), for around $15-$20 each if I pay the shipping? I don't mean to sound cheap, but Norman wasn't my horse, and all of my extra money is wrapped up in my children and my own horse. Thank you for any info!!

When my horse was euthanized, I took his forelock, braided it, and put it in a sealed container. I also asked for the bracelet of tail hair. When I got the bracelet a week later, I was a little dissapointed. The hair was treated in some chemical and didn't feel like his hair at all. I think the idea of the bracelet is very nice but the feel of it bothered me, like it was a completely different material and wasn't as personal. If I were you I would keep some hair natural and seal it and ask for a bracelet for the rest of the hair so you have the choice.

Thanks Roro :-) He passed away out in the snow and wet, and his forelock and mane were full of burrs and soaked. We were unable to get him into his stall. He went down about 5 feet from his door. I was able to get a large handful of his tail, but with him being a draft(he was an 18.2hh Percheron), his tail wasn't extremely long to begin with. I'm not even sure i have enough to make a bracelet, but I'm sure gonna try.
