mouse running in circles?
So I definitely found a field mouse on the road running in circles (only clockwise circles, it can't seem to go in a straight line or counter clockwise) in the middle of the road. I scooped him or her up becuase it was gonna get hit if he/she stayed there and now I'm wondering what to do...
I'm going to call my vet but should I really just let it go and be eaten? Anybody have experience with this?
It was born in the wild and should have minimal or no human contact. If the mouse has a neurological defect, it is better for it to die anyways before it breeds and creates more defective mice. I know it may seem nicer to keep the mouse and nurse it back to health, but this is a wild animal and it should be up to nature whether the mouse lives or dies. It is best for the mouse to be released into the wild.

Yeah, I kinda decided that and I let it go. We have a huge field in my backyard so I just put it back there where it can hopefully find it's way to somewhere safe. =) Thanks!

In case you are still interested in why... it probably had A) a brain tumor/neurological defect or B) an ear infection. It is not un-common to have a spinning domestic mouse, a round of antibiotics clears it up
For a wild mouse it is best to set it free and let nature take it's course
