Warts?

My friend's horse has them all over his nose and everything. Her and my instructor said that they will go away sooner or later.

eventually they will fall off on their own

i would like any info as well ! my horse has one by her mouth [it looks like a rub from a bit, but its not...she has always had it even before she was mouthed] i would very much like to get rid of it bc i dont want the bit to be uncomfortable for her incase it rubs up against it....i have no idea what to do to help though

Just let them be and they will go away. They are very common, especially in younger horses. They are also very contagieous (sp) so keep the horse away from others she can go nose to nose with to avoid an outbreak ;)

I'm aware that they go away on their own however I was hoping someone had a Remedy to speed up the healing process.

yeah it's hard when you have a limited pasture situation. We had the same, and had a warts outbreak, before we knew it all the babies had it. Ew.

gypsygirl 11-04-2009 01:06 PM

no one else at my barn has them though.

is it different if they are older ?

BrokenWings 11-04-2009 01:26 PM

Not sure. My BO told me it is more "common" in babies.
