Im not a trainer at all, I'm only 14 but you can buy books with different exercises in them and check out my blog which is in my signature. I put up one of the exercises that I did in there and it works SO well.

If you want to be a good trainer apprentice with a real proven top trainer. That is the best way to learn. You can not learn to be a trainer over the internet. You need to sit your ass on as many horses as you can and to do that you need to work with a trainer who gets in a lot of good horses and can show you how to do the work needed to really train a horse and do it well and consistently.

Those are golden words indeed! Don't look over the internet (although books are very helpful too as an addition to what nrhareiner said), go and find top barns in your area and ask to be a working student there so you could watch lessons (and probably take some too).

Very well said!!!

Try to work under a trainer who trains in the area of performance you want to train in. I worked under a cutting horse trainer as well as a john lyons certified trainer. I worked under both for YEARS. I still learning to this day. I've been training horses on my own for about a year now, but my main focus is the timed events as well as working horses on cattle.

Its honestly hard to become the "best trainer" out there.
