Taiji Horsemanship Clinic
Hello everyone! If anyone is interested in doing something on Thanksgiving weekend, here's a great opportunity!
Lizzy Traband, 11 years old, of Centre Hall, PA will be presenting her first ever full weekend clinic highlighting her methods of Taiji Horsemanship.
Lizzy founded Taiji in March of 2009 to share the principles she uses to train her own horses. Lizzy competes in the hunter/jumper arena and also does trick and bridleless/bareback riding. She has traveled all along the east coast and even to Canada doing expo performances and clinics, sometimes accompanying her trick trainer and mentor Equine Extremist Tommie Turvey, and sometimes solo. This summer, Lizzy was the youngest performer ever to headline at the Breyerfest, and she is currently one of the 15 performers chosen for the World Equestrian Games to be held in Lexington Kentucky from September to October in 2010.
This clinic will highlight all aspects of Lizzy's training methods and experience, from ground work, flat work, and jumping to trick riding and stunts. Taiji horsemanship, says Lizzy, is "for kids by a kid," but truthfully Lizzy's Taiji principles work for all disciplines in achieving better understanding of how a rider affects a horse, and how to teach a horse a simple set of skills that start a progression to more advanced skills.
