I Rescued A Baby Hawk
Well I didn't really rescue him/her but I couldn't think of a better work. Today mum opened the feed shed and when she did a baby hawk flew into the window. She didn't think that he/she hit that hard and she quickly grabbed a towel and picked the bird up. The bird had been knocked out cold. So she brought him over to me and on her way tried to find a heart beat but couldn't. So she asked me to, I managed to find a very soft heart beat. So then we quickly took the bird to the vet.
But sadly the bird died on the way, in my lap. So we didn't really rescue him/her. But we gave the bird at least half a chance of surviving. RIP little bird.
awwwwwwww thats soooo cool my grama does that kinda stuff...... in fact! the other day she rescued a buzzard that was in the ditch(it had been hit by a car)
but it was too badly hurt :'( it died
Well atleast he died in your lap instead of being eaten alive by ants. I cant stand to see things suffer so I would have done the same thing.Heck I rescued a squirrel that had been hit by a car a few weeks ago.I was going to bring him home and put him down but he started moving around so I put him in a box.A few hours later I moved him into a cage and he started drinking water.I gave him food and water for a week and finally turned him loose. If he had any internal injury's he would have died sooner so I guess he just got knocked out.LOL
chingazmyboy - im sorry you had to loose the bird but i agree with poniesforpaige, its best that you had the bird insted of insects and maggots getting to it.
Lacyloo- congrats for the squirrel survival :)
