Guys and Riding
I have been riding off and on scince i was four or five. I have always loved horses, but I have always had to hide it. I am a guy and I was wondering what your opinions are on guys and riding.

 I think its great to see guys riding. Wish there were more of you!
Also wish my husband would take up the reins now and again, but he much prefers his cars.
Dont mean to pry, but why would you feel that you had to hide it? The majority of top riders in the world are men, and to me nothin beats seeing a person as one with their horse. Beats cars/motors anyhow.

I think it's great when guys ride!! I see nothing wrong with it!
Most showjumpers & jockeys are pretty much guys 'ya know! ;)

I think it's fine if you ride, I see no reason you should hide it!

it is GREAT that u ride i hate it when people say that guys cannot ride because it is girly i just tell them u cannot dis what u have not done.if it makes u feel better in my 4-h group over half of the guys r registered to show ride horses and r not afraid to admit it.also my uncle is like u he loves to ride that is one of the reasons my aunt married not get discouraged and if ur friends cannot except u for what u like to do u need new friends.

My husband and I both ride and most of the people we ride with are husband and wife. We live in "cowboy country" so I think there are more men than women riders here. I have met guys who just got into horses to meet girls though

you know most of australias best riders are guys!
andrew hoy, for one,
i could name more but it probably wouldnt do a lot if your in another country.

when guys compete in eventing in astralia, they pretty much dominate it,

we have a lot of guys here that event, and show jump, not and many do dressage, and hardly any hackers.
but none ofthem are looked down upon. they are all much loved in the sport and they bing awesome competition!

well done, hold your head up high, and love every minute of it.
dont think or worry about what other people say, because otherwise you will never live your life to the fullest!

i have always been one for giving everyone a chance, i used to ballet dance with a guy, i moved to horses only, and i still see him winning scholarships in the paper, and doing realy well as a classical ballet dancer! and we have never once held the fact that he is a guy against him. infact we used to always stick up for him!

go for it!
live your life the way you want to, because you dont want to live the way other people want you to , as when you look back you will see you have lived a lie!

My son is only 5 weeks old so may have a few years in front of him before this happens :D

I don't consider riding a female sport? I'm not sure which discipline you ride in... but wherever I go I see guys who ride and love it. Even just as a hobby !

Stick to it :D

Awesome for you.....I have not seen a huntsmaster or even a whipper that was a female....and yes there are alot of awesome top male riders and instructors and my hubby rides very well which of course annoys the crap out of me so we are always in competition with each other. Be Proud that you don't seem to get caught up in self conciousness like us ladies and annoyingly you do well and with less work. :?
Anyway be proud!!!
