Picking up from where we left off
So I'm coming home in a week ( Ive been in college). All summer I worked with a previously trained field pony who had been left in the field for like 5 years. Before I left for school, we were doing jumping patterns (nothing over a foot). Shes only been taken out on a few leadline trailrides since ive been gone, and I have only been on her once since august. I want to work her over winter break to make showing this spring easier. Im planning on doing a lot of ground and flat work to get her back into it. I don't want to overload her since shes probably lost muscle, but I want to get stuff done. She stresses her self out and gets sore easily, and I think this might be a problem since its so cold her. I guess if i just take it easy it will be OK, but do you guys have and suggestions?
