I have been working on my horse to compete in the extreme cowboy races, and our training has been a breeze, however - I hit a little bump equipment wise.
When doing the blast into deep water, my saddle of course, gets soaked. I have been using saddle soap to clean and let dry slowly, but what about the underside under the fleece? Is there anything I can do to protect the saddle? It just got to me that the top is pretty well protected, but the back side? Lost on this one. Mostly because when I was younger, I rode bareback all the time, and the first saddle I got was a synthetic. I have plenty of horse folks around here that use leather saddles in the manner that I do, but they don't quite know either. Input - especially from leather experts is appreciated. Thanks!
