Trimming the head - weird behavior

I started to "train" them to be OK with trimmer. The weird thing though when I try to clip around Jemma's lips (especially the lower one) she drops her lower lip and tries to suck the trimmer in a mouth. I assume it's just a game from her side, but it's very annoying and I really afraid to hurt her with it. Kiara doesn't do it though. So is there any ways to keep her from doing that? Is it something horses get over?

Its a learned behavior. It may just tickle...Do it enough she might figure out that you arnt gonna quit, wont pause, turn them off etc...just keep on going with it. Those clipper blades wont hurt her. If you have to just hold the bottom lip and do it.

I've had several horses do that...I think it's because the clippers tickle; I ignore it and just am extra watchful about catching them in the mouth.
