Once a year they have to have a booster shot, I think to start them off there is some course of shots to do but cant remember what it is.But after the initial course its yearly.

The tetanus is a yearly with no booster. The only booster we had to give our babys was a west nile. I think it was 3-4 weeks after first shot. Everything else is on an annual basis.

I personally get one every 5 years. Life on the farm involves lots of rusty metal cuts :)

Tetanus is defintely every year in horses even though we don't have to have them that often as humans. This is because horses are highly susceptible to tetanus (one of the most susceptible creatures in the world), they shed the bacteria in their feces so they live in a constantly contaminated environment (they don't just get it from rusty stuff) and after the initial infection symptoms are not seen for several weeks to months and infections are 100% fatal in horses (by the time you see symptoms, there is nothing you can do).

For foals you have to give an initial series of 2-3 vaccinations, but in adult horses most vet will just start them on yearly vaccinations without the boosters if vaccination history is unknown.
