lol, my geldings nick name is donkey, since its nicer than some of the other things I can call him when kids are around (no offense to donkey people of course, love the long ears, as well as cows!)
Other than that, I like the topic of names. I personally have always done well with horses named after small animals, like Mouse, Possum, Badger, Bug, etc. I have never gotten along with a horse named Star (not that they are bad, they and I just don't quite click). Just like I never had a good relationship with a guy whose name was Billy, or any version of that name. As a kid, I loved the name Charisma for a mare, I remember it was on that show "Hey Dude". I currently have a horse in my barn named Rebel that lived up to that with his owners, but is actually a big puppy dog. I also knew a bolter named Renegade, he had the name before the issue, go figure. They say that people that name their animals people names are more likely to treat the animals like people. Don't know about that one. Heck, I have cats named No No, Ya Ya, and Maybe. I think we just started running out of names. Now, I really don't care what the horse's name is, many of them just go by "dork" or "goober" or "mare".
