String test yearlings

there are quite a few threads on string test but I would like some opinions.

When I did the string test from middle of knee down to hair line on hoof, he strings to 16. When I did the string test where you take string from elbow to fetlock, he came out at 15.3-16 as well.

My question is, he is only about 14 hh now, so he is really going to grow almost 2 full hands by the time he is done growing? I thought they only grew like a hand after their yearling year??

The general rule is they grow 2 hands from yearling. My yearling was 14hh and stringed to 16. She is now two and 15.1 and growing strong.

When I string tested Midas (though I did him as a foal) I did from the knee to coronet and he came out 16.2-16.3, he's now 3 and a solid 16, pushing 16.1 and still growing.
