Pasture plowing and reseeding a Success!

When the snow melted this spring, end of April, we plowed and seeded the bottom pasture. Right after I seeded, it rained, then rained, and rained some more, for almost 2 months off and on. It's coming up really well, roots are super strong, I think I can turn the horses out on it come August

I used Dryland pasture mix, same stuff we used for the lawn. No lawn seed for horse people! Yes I do occasionally let my horses graze in the yard before I have to mow it, lol.

No mowing, let the horses eat it down, then going to put composted fertilizer on it, Daddy-O has a plan, lol.

No mower for the pastures, to tell you the truth, I just bought a lawnmower for the lawns about 3 years ago. The horses were my lawnmowers, lol.

Actually we are doing not too bad for growing grass, considering the acreage looked like this when we purchased it 20 years ago...

I am okay with pasture mix lawns, considering the fact I live in the middle of the forest, lol
