The official "Brag About Your Goat" Thread!

Well everyone, I've found many of the other 'horse people' Also have goats! I wanted to share.. and Brag about my guys! I have 4 boys, two bucks and two wethers.

Riot - 10 month old [triplet] buckling. He obviously matures slowly (dang it!). He is out of a 2009 March crop. His Sire is Ennobled, Grandsire, Ennobled, and great grandsire, DUAL Ennobled. His Dam's pedigree also features many Ennoblements'. Riot is very correct, and the papers show it! He acts like a bottlefed kid, and is very very smart. He is amazing, and I will always love this goat!

And his photo at two weeks; http://ladybughillfarm.com/images/goats/24-march09.jpg.
This goat is simply amazing has began to develop a wider frame.

This is Powhatan. He is a 75% Boer wether. This guy was my first goat, and turned 1 year in October of '09. He has chronic bronchitis, and we may not be able to keep him around much longer. Pow and I showed in 4H for 2009. We won 5th in Showmanship. Great boy, I'll miss him. Right now his days are spent as a hay burner and pasture mate.

Pow has the same sire as Riot, and his Dam is Bailey.

Jasper is a yearling (mid 2008) Nubian wether, he is basically a petting zoo, bottle fed baby, and such a lover.. And a pain in the arse! Haha. This goat is very friendly and LOVES people! He was disbudded incorrectly resulting in the loss.. more like his horn was ripped out of his skull.. (:

And this is Billy. A 2001 Pygmy buck. He is 185 pounds, and smelly! He is a totally wimp. Mean to my little buckling. He is currently also dying, due to age, poor heath (we rescued him), and the loss of his 'girlfriend' Winston.
Billy is pictured on the right.

Winston Left.

I want a goat :)

OdinsOwn 01-10-2010 07:50 PM

No pictures on this computer, but we have a 16 y/o pygmy (do goats even live that long?? I was never sure how long as our others only made it to 12ish) that was our original horses companion and has still been kicking it with the new gang :)

ilovemyPhillip 01-10-2010 09:10 PM

Sunny, they are wonderful.

OdinsOwn; WOW! 16 is very old! What a blessed goat!

OdinsOwn 01-11-2010 11:14 AM

Yes I now know where the expression "old as a goat" comes from..... She acts like she's young still... Chases the dog plays with the horses. Same old stuff she used to do minus the jumping as she's getting quite arthritic with the cold weather

:( Awe.
