Possible Purchase Critique Please!

I've been following this horse on craigslist for awhile, he was priced and $1500, and he's now down to $800. It was too good, so i took the bait. Anyway, I went to see him today and I wanted to get some opinions. I sent everything to a trainer I work with, but haven't heard back just yet. I'm impatient and want some opinions now!

He's an OTTB, raced once, was going to be kept as a track pony until this lady bought him. He's green broke, doesn't know much, but definitely not a typical ex-racer. Very laid back. He can w/t/c, but he's still unsure about picking up his off track lead, moves off the leg a little, and has been over cavaletti a few times.

I'd love to hear some opinions!
Thanks!

Well, his conformation is not very good...he looks sickle-hocked (weak hocks) and stands under in front (his front legs are slanting backward, putting his weight too far forward). He also has really long, sloping pasterns, which will probably make for very smooth gaits, but also can lead to leg problems. He looks very willing and gentle, like you said, though. How old is he? What are you going to be doing with him? Some horses grow out of conformation faults, but I wouldn't count on it. Depending on what you're doing with him, though, he might work out fine. You're getting a very reasonable price on him, and he really is cute! : )

Mostly Hunters/Dressage. After I've been home for awhile and really studied him now, I've been noticing more and more things that are not so good. Over at the knee, long pasterns and what have you... I know I just posted, but taking a really good look I think I've decided not to buy him. haha.
Even though he's a steal and super cute I don't know that he's quite what I'm looking for at this point in time. I think I just answered my own question, haha!!
