Funny Things!
Hehe! OK, well before i got all horse crazy and rode horses and got one, etc... I thought some pretty funny things about horses... Here are some...

  • I went on my first trail ride with my Dad and there was only 2 other people. We were just walking and the guide said if we wanted to go faster and i didn't know what he was talking about!! I was pretty little then though. (Like 8, but still )!
I have heaps but they are just too embarrassing! Now, share yours! :D

My moms friend let us ride a few of her horses and I was awaiting my turn and decided to play with the hot walker... Well I pushed it ONE time and the whole frigging piece FELL OFF. I freaked out and was so embarrassed. She didn't really care because it was fixable and if a horse would have don't that... It wouldn't have ended well

It wasn't me, but my husband...We were at a dinner party with some friends, some were horse people, and we were talking about bathing our horses, general hygeine stuff. My husband is new to horses, so he was hanging on every word...Somehow, the subject became about cleaning the sheath! (I know, at dinner!) We all had stories, and I asked how or what caused your horse to 'drop'. Everyone shared their tips (brushing, one just did it whenever his owner came out and scratched his boy started doing it when I was out with him and had an audio book playing on the iPod...) when my hubby asked (loudly) "What does that mean? Dropping?" So, now that everyone had stopped talking and all the non-horse people were looking at me for an explanation....I tried to say it without actually spelling it out...To a lot of blank looks. Finally, with some hand gestures, and a lot of spluttering...I finally got the point across. Thankfully, everyone got it and started laughing!

A month or two ago, I was riding Firefly, a lesson horse. She's a short, round thing with no withers, so you have to be careful not to lean or get off balance.

So, I started trotting around around some poles. I was being rather careless/lazy and, as I rounded the past pole, leaned to the inside. The saddle slipped and I was left dangling, foot caught in the far-side stirrup, hanging on to poor Fly's fur, and screaming, "Make it stop! Make it stop!"

I was terribly afraid that Fly would bolt and drag me, but my trainer seemed to find the whole situation incredibly funny. She WALKED slowly over to Fly and started petting her for being so good and not running.

haha at a camp when I was about five or six, I fell of. ... when I was dismounting. It was extremely embarrassing, especially considering the fact that I had quite the ego since I had ridden a bit more than the other girls. It definitely brought me down a notch!
