Kid Riding - inspired by Meggymoo

I didn't want to hijack Meggymoo's thread, but the pictures of her daughter riding were sooo cute, I wanted to share also.

This is my little sister Becca (now six) who lives next door to us on our shared farm.

This is her 19 year old gelding Chino. She rides him most of the time bareback, because she can then get him ready with little or no help. Most days she can bridle him (unless he is being uncooperative :) ).

Anyone else with cute kiddo photos, feel free to share.

She looks brilliant. I love seeing kids riding. Bareback too, great for teaching balance. Ellie tries it now and again, but she prefers having a saddle.
Has Becca been riding long? She looks lovely and relaxed. Looks like she's been riding for years.

Awesome! Reminds me of when I was a kid. My parents have pics of me riding at age 3.

She has been riding along with adults since she was about a year old, but she has been riding on her own since she was about Ellie's age. She started the bareback thing alot last summer (when she was five).

I think the bareback thing really does help their balance, but it has to be on the right horse. Chino is nice and wide, so he is easy to sit. :)

I love seeing kids ride also, that is why your other post inpired me to share. Kids have a lot less fear when they start out than an adult has when starting out :)

This is my Daughter Muireann age 5 on her pony Molly.
I know she has no hat or boots on she normally does when she is on Molly. We only got Molly in the summer she is blind in one eye she was kicked by another horse only 2 weeks before we got her, She is a really sweet pony and loves kids.

The other pic is Muireann and one of my danes Nero.

Very cute cara!! I love the pony :) My little sister does well with her old gelding, but I think a pony would be so much fun for her (more her size :) ).

I would love to see some scanned photos if you could get it to work... my scanner at home is beyond me sometimes :)
