good tall boots?

Hey Everyone!
I am on a budget and looking for a decent pair of zip dress boots. Unfortunately Ariat and Mountain Horse all seem to be a bit too much. :-( Has anyone had any luck with the following brands?
Devon Aire, Dublin, Ovation?
Or a different brand altogther?
I am just starting to show, and zips are a must.
Thanks!

You can get a nice pair of slightly used Ariats on Ebay for way cheaper than new ones that are show quality. I've been showing for years and I only just recently got boots with a zip (reluctantly) so zips aren't necessarily a must

Umm I dont have much experience in this area and have only ever purchased two types of boots. :P If you dont need them right away you could wait for a sale like me. I got my moutain horse winter boots at an amasing price.Stores will probably be trying to get rid of the stuff to make room for new inventory.

Sorry I wasnt much help.

I just went to the tack store recently and told her (the girl that helped me) I couldn't afford too much. She brought out their lowest priced pair and I tried them on. They were Ovations and were REALLY nice! They are a very good brand for the price, I thought they were almost as good as my Ariats actually. Devon-Aire is good, too. Their clothes are awesome as well. As for Dublin, I don't like them. They are pretty cheap and my friend who got them said they were pretty uncomfortable as well.

I wouldn't buy tall boots first time from ebay, though. If you get sized for them maybe, but they are really confusing at first.

(I went with Ariat Challenge 2 zips though: they were shiny + I'm a girl = mine :) )

If you can wait a little bit so you have a little more money, Ariat is discontinuing the boots that are the next step up from Heritage IIs (Crownes or Challenges - not sure which.) and Dover has them for the same price as the Heritages - around $260. That's a really good price and they'll last you. With tall boots, price really tends to reflect upon quality.

LOVE my Ariat Heritage II Zip back tall boots. Another good brand that I'm familiar with is Equicomfort.

Yeah my first pair of boots are Equi comfort. I still have them for jumping because jumping in stiff dress boots isn't fun :P
They have massive holes in them on the insides and the soles are coming off, but I've had them for 10 years, so...
They are decent enough quality.

Found some Ariat Challenge Zips for $199 down from $380 or so on Dover! Wee! Thanks for the tip Dantex.
Thanks for the advice everyone else!
