The one time I actually get what I wish for.
I am not in a place where I could enjoy it. I have been wanting some snow to ride my horse in all winter and been getting jealous looking at everyone else's pictures. Now, I come back to Amarillo where I have no horse and what does it do? On Jan 28, we get about an inch of rain early in the morning, then it drops below freezing and turns to sleet (little ice balls). Then after about 2 or 3 inches of sleet, it turns to snow and we get an additional 15 inches of snow. I couldn't move my car for 3 days. We still had about 6 inches ground cover and the roads are slush and it started snowing again tonight. There is already about 4 or 5 more inches and it is still snowing. How messed up is that. I haven't been able to get any good pix but I did get a couple of crappy ones from my balcony.

This was the day after the initial storm. Even though we had wind, you can still see a few inches piled up on the balcony railing. Sorry the pic is bad, I took it through the door.

And now here is tonight. And this is after a week of melting too.

I will trade with you! I have snow drifts in some of my pens that are over 10-12 ft. Going out into the field snow is at least thigh high. It's not all that pleasant.

If you ever want to help in finding a place to see here in the Rockies, let me know and I'll help you out. Lots of snow and lots of wildlife :)
