Riding in Mexico?
So the husband and i are headed to Mexico (riviera maya) for spring break and riding on the beach sounds like a lot of fun.
Anyone have any particularly good or bad experiences? Places that let you ride in the water or go faster than a walk?
You know we all dream of galloping a horse down a beautiful beach.....
I went on a cruise to Cancun and Cozumel for my senior trip. I had a friend that wanted to do the horse thing so bad but didn't want to go by herself so I agreed to go with her. It was okay but to me, the horses were no fun to ride. Many of them were old and most were thin. Some of them had very serious vices, there was one girl that had her horse run away with her. I offered to ride the horse back after the break but the owners wouldn't let me. We rode about 2 or 3 miles to the beach where we were able to take the horses into the ocean and then back to the stable. I suppose it probably would have been more fun if I didn't have better horses at home to ride. My friend had fun. They also let us lope back and forth along the beach. I don't have any idea what the name of the place was, it was one of the excursions offered by the ship and they transport you to.
