My Horse/Dog Project
So, as some of you know I may get a horse this or next year. My dad said that if I can take care of and train my dogs for a year I could get a horse of my own. We have 2 dogs 1,Roxy, is already trained and the other one ,Marley, is so not! In an energy level from 1-10 she has a 9. But in the end it is all going to be worth it. I am on day 48/365!! And I just had to get that out there! I am so excited! here are some pics of the trouble one Marley! Tell me what you think of my plan... Heeeerreess Marley!

Thats some pics of my PUP!

Makes sense as Marley is a high energy breed. Lots of exercise to burn off some of it and have you done any agility training? This breed is usually very good in this.

Best of luck to you!

btw, she is beautiful!

That's wonderful news! you must be so excited! Good luck with the dog training. I really enjoy working with dogs and training them and I'm sure you will do a great job with it. Good luck, she is a gorgeous dog.

Yes, that breed has boundless energy. But they needed it for the job they were bred to do. By exercise, and I apologize for not being clearer, I meant under your control. For example, agility exercises, herding exercises, or even running along side you under control of leash. Of course, the more focused she becomes the calmer she will be. It's engaging their brains that will calm them. You couldn't possibly exhaust this breed by not engaging their mind. Then all you have is a very fit spaz attack!

They are a challenge, but such wonderfully natured dogs. Have fun with Miss Marley. I do miss my dogs, but no longer have the time it takes to devote to one.

Ya, I work with a leash. I let her run freely but only in the backyard because she bolts away! I also take her to our local dog park sometimes but she gets distracted by other dogs and barks at them.... Neighborhood cats tease her all day long and she barks all day at them. Lol she is very entergetic!

Have you thought about clicker training? I did that witrh my puppy and she learned super fast. The trick is to start off giving a treat everytime she responds correctly, then every 2 or 3 times, then maybe every 5 to 7 times, then randomly. If the dog figures out the patteren they lose interest.

where can you buy clickers cause I've sen that done before.
