GoGo Peppy Pines
So, just bought "Peppy" as he's known at the barn. 5 years old, very little work done with him before I purchased him. But he's progressing at an excellent rate! Anyways- I haven't decided what disipline to go into with him. I'm not a big english person, I have WP, Barrels, and trails in my past. I've considered doing reining with him.
Critique, but please don't be rude about it. I understand the pictures aren't the best, but they were taken tonight (Feb 17). What I'm looking for specifically is Conformation, and what you think he would work best in.
He looks like he would be a nice reining horse. He may not take you to a world championship but he will give you something to spend all your extra cash on.
Lord knows thats just what I need, MORE reason to spend money on him! Haha
If there is one thing that reining horses will help you do it's spend money. They need special training and shoes and bits and saddles they are quite pricey and then you get to trailer to shows and pay entry fees.
From his name I am assuming he's out of the Peppy San Badger lines? Good ranch, roping, cutting, reining, cowhorse lines. We have a a couple of groups in Texas that show / compete with ranch horses. One is called SHOT (Sport Horse of Texas) and they have everything from roping to reining to halter to western pleasure. Also, the "Extreme Cowboy Races" have opened up the door for a lot of extreme trail competitions where you actually ride on a trail (generally about 3 to 5 miles long) and you have certain obstacles or tasks to complete along the way. There is a judge positioned at each obstacle and the entire race is timed. Anyway, something to think about.
Thats very interesting. I'm not sure though that I've heard of that in Michigan. Definitely something I'll look into though.
I'm not positive on his lines off the top of my head, Still waiting to see my trainer again to give him whats left that I owe on him to get his papers. : )
Anyone else have comments on his Confo?
how tall is he?
looks like he has a long back, "thick" build and short legs to me.
but he is cute!
He looks like a nice, all around gelding. Cute expression on his face.
He's about 15.0-15.2. Not as tall as I prefer em. But sometimes dynamite comes in small packages. ; )
And, I sat on his back today for the first time! He just nibbled my shoes, and couldn't have cared less. : )
