Hello from Maine
Hello All! I've been reading and trying to get to know a little about everyone here and this seems like a wonderful forum for information, stories, and more. My name is Lynda and I own an 8 yr old qh named Rocket. I have had him since he was 3 and the previous owner could no longer handle him because they were not horse knowledgeable and he figured that out :lol: He and I have an unbreakable bond and I would give my life for him if you know what I mean. He lives at my friends house with 8 other horses and is fat and happy. We mostly trail ride, but have been looking into the cross country circuit as well as investigating the mounted search and rescue. I have been involved with horses since I was 5 and they are my passion. I've owned several and began with a standardbred which was rescued from the meat truck. It has been my journey to take the stb's in and retrain them for riding then find them good homes. I have been successful with 3 so far and am on the lookout for another at this time. My husband is my guinea pig and he loves the stb's and their great temperments. We just found a home for our 10 year old appendix qh gelding that we rescued. He was approx 500 pounds under weight when we found him. Now he lives with a man who dotes on him hand and hoof lol. Long story that I will get into more later. Looking forward to meeting all of you and hopefully I can bring some knowledge and be able to help someone with a question here and there!:-):-):-)
Hello from Maine as well! I mostly ride trails too, so many good ones out here! I ride with TROT sometimes, hoping to try some CTRs this summer...I've found some really interesting topics and knowledgeable people on here :)
Welcome fellow Mainah's! I'm also from Central Maine (rode a few rides with TROT, and currently riding as much as possible with Maine Trail Riders when schedule allows).
Yes, the trails here in Maine are absolutely beautiful and very diverse. Hope you both are fairing well during this particular time here. Very unusual weather, seems like we are starting "mud season" early and probably will be an extended one if things keep up! LOL!
There's a few more of us Maniacs on the forum, sure you'll meet! Have fun!
