| toosexy4myspotz | 03-03-2010 09:26 PM | One week till big trail ride!!! Ive got my new mare cheyenne working in the round pen, riding in the round pen, and riding around the barn. On march 12-16th we are heading to the mountains to ride on the new river trail which is an easy flat trail that has some bridges and tunnels and is for beginners. Also people walk it and ride bikes on it so it isnt harsh. I need ideas to prep my little mare for this big adventure. We are trailering out this sunday to hit some trails at the local horse club which will tell big time how ready for this adventure she is. She has her moments of acting up and carrying on but she is young and has been shut up the past few days in her stall. So, tomorrow we are going to start a HEAVY workout with her and keep her going threw it all next week. I have someone that is going to ride with me next week that is also very fast paced. Cheyenne, even tho she is 15.1hh, out walks a 16.2hh tennessee walking horse with ease. So, I gotta have somebody that can role with me and not behind me all the time. Im going to sack her out everyday, hot walk her, work her in the round pen and ride her everyday. Any other ideas and I would GREATLY appreciate it. |
