Am i asking to much?
I have a gelding that is 16yrs old and is 14.2 hands. He is a pali. mft/bashkir cross. He is a trail horse and rode extensivly before i got him. He was up in the PA mountains and when i bought him i brought him to kansas. He does good with beginers and rides down the road great and on the trails he is wonderful. I have had a 4yr old on him and kids all ages and levels to adults of all levels.
He loads, leads, ties, bathes, stands for trimming. He does bridges, water, mud. He likes to take it easy but will get up and go. Has done funshows, overnight trails, and large groups. Will trail in the front, middle, or back. Since i have had him he has mainly been used on the roads and alot of other people using him.
I am only selling him due to i cant ride anymore its just to painful. I feel it isnt fair to him as he loves to be rode. He holds weight and is never grained and is being trimmed by a barefoot specialist.
I paid $1500 for him and i have him priced now at $1500 with tack(saddle, pad, bridle, reins, halter, lead.)
Am i asking to much? What would you pay for a horse like him?
If he is as advertised I would say you are right on with the price.
Seems reasonable to me. If the market is fair in your area, you may even get a sale at 2k.
I feared i had priced him to high but horses unbroke are selling for more. Do i need to change anything in his ad? Is short handing things make the ad look ok? Its been to long since i have had to sell a horse and never a horse of his training or value.
I would say take the first picture off, it isn't very flattering. The other two are good. You may want to put up a conformation picture as well.
The first picture was the wrong picture i havent put that in his ads. I know how to tell conformation but how do you get a good shot for comformation? Are you just talking a flat side shot?
When a horse is standing squared up as much as possible and the picture is being taken of the horse's side with no tack and/or rider on, like this:
(obviously not my horse!)
But a very beautiful example. Thank you i will get a shot of him to add.
What is the blemish on his nose? If that is nothing that will ever affect him, and he has no soundness issues, I would say the price is right.
That seems a fair price if he is as you say & all the tack is included. I would pay that if I was still looking.
