Benefit to getting baseline Lyme Titer?
We're doing spring shots next week. I'm in an area where Lyme disease is very common, and I have a nice dark horse that hides ticks well. Is there any benefit to having the vet draw blood to get a baseline Lyme titer so I have something to compare to if my horse ever starts showing symptoms? I've read that those levels fluctuate dramatically regardless of what's actually going on, so I'm not sure it makes sense to spend the money.
