Making the Fuzzies Go Away

Hi Everyone! My poor horse is very fuzzy and gross, and I brush him every day for a while. However, I just can't seem to help him get rid of his fuzzies! I have never had to deal with this problem before, but because of the cold winter I let him get a little hair. Do you have any ideas or tricks to get him show ready?

Thanks for your input!

Is he kept indoors or out? Do you have a blanket for him?

Clipping is going to be the quickest way to get the hair off. You could also encourage shedding by creating a situation that doesn't require the coat to keep him warm. Either way, you'll want to be sure to provide the warmth he needs w/out the coat.

I have two horses that have alot of fuzzies left. One filly has barely started to shed...I just continue to curry them and am just waiting patiently for it to come out...there's not a whole lot you can do in order to 'force' a horse to shed out faster. You could body clip, but unless it's absolutely necessary for showing, I don't think that is completely necessary.

He is kept outdoors most of the time and I groom him every day, but there is no need for blankets in North Texas right now. The temperatures have been in the 70's and 80's all week and should stay there! I guess I'm just impatient to see my pretty boy again ;) I will keep up the intense currying! Thanks!
