Nice to meet ya! pics included, of course
Hello everyone.. been here for a while, thought it was about time to give a bit of an introduction.

My basics... I'm a 21 yr old from Alberta, Canada and have been riding for 14 years. Started out western, moved to english and jumping, then into dressage... which then found me working with alot of "problem" horses, which I absolutely love. I enjoy riding as many horses as I get the opportunity to do so, and challenging myself to mold to each new horse I ride. I started out in weekly lessons, and then did whatever I could to get my hands on horses outside of them.. grooming and tacking for people, riding horses who bucked, or bolted, etc, and then moved to multiple lessons a week (working them off), until I leased my first horse (I started homeschooling, and picked up a full time job on top of working for my lessons to pay for the pleasure of having my own horse when I was 15/16).. who was given to me a year later by his wonderful former owner for christmas.

Along that time I met, rode, and worked with many horses that influenced the person I am now. My first horse, Kozmo, who started out as a lease, taught me more lessons than I will ever realize, and after 3 short years of having him in my life I had to put him down in 2007 because of a jugular melanoma. After losing him, I "rescued" a couple of off track thoroughbreds and eventually rehomed them. One was labled as dangerous, and good for nothing and his future was to be shot.. so I purchased him for an unreasnably low price and worked with him for a couple years until this feb. he was sold to a young girl as her future "forever" horse. Another had been to the track and competed in the jumper ring for years, successfully, and began having sound/soreness issues. He was disgarded, and I purchased him. Had him for 6 months or so and got his mind and body (feet included) healthy, and rehomed him to a wonderful lady that will keep him in semi-retirement and trail ride him for the rest of his days.

My "keeper", is Vinny.
5yr old Hanoverian x Selle Francais
I purchased him as an untouched yearling with a mind of his own... he is still the most stubborn horse I've ever met, and wouldn't trade him for the world. I've done everything from the halter-training to the undersaddle work, and it's been a long journey for us. His future will consist of lower level dressage.. but our focus will be over fences. He's a well rounded boy.. we've done everything from western, to dressage, trails, bareback, started over fences, etc. Heck, he's even been out with some cattle.

P.S. me and Vinny are a big fan of roaching manes lmao..

the chain is just for photos, btw lol

our first dressage clinic a year ago

Sorry for the photo overload! I take alot of them.. so will probably post alot of them lol.

for good measure, a photo of us both this winter, in his massive wooly coat.

If you made it through this, COOKIES! And I look forward to reading about everyone and their horses :-)

Thanks very much everyone, I like to stay active on forums, so it's nice to find a very active one filled with nice people.

I've worked with a few off track horses other people have owned and it's very rewarding to see them blossom when given the chance.. we currently have a few retired horses and a few working into a new career. I love my warmbloods, but I love the minds that off track horses have as well.

Anyways, thanks very much for the warm welcome everyone :)
