I thought I'd start an interesting thread.
So this weekend I went out to ride my horse. And we had a good ride. I walked and jogged Lucky around and around. Then I got a cramp in my right foot, so I decided to get off and stand on it for a few minutes.
My dad wanted to get on so I got off and led Lucky over to the mounting block, and adjusted the stirrups for him.
My dad has ridden Lucky a few times and always does well on him, so I thought he had the mounting thing down.
Well he starts showing off and waving his hand in the air, like he was fixing to jump off the worlds tallest diving board into a small pool.
so he puts his foot in the stirrup and somehow he manages to miss the seat and fall on the other side.
After that he did get on the horse and have good ride.
There is a joke we used to use at my old barn everytime a new rider had there first fall, called: The Hit The Dirt Club. But I think thats a joke that people use in the horse world.
Its been a few days and I'm still laughing about it.
Have any of you, or know some one who had a funny fall
I tried to jump on a horse from the ground and ended up falling completely over the other side.
One time I put my cousin and my friend on my horse bareback and double to walk him in from the pasture. He went to walk around a rock and tripped a little and they both came off his back end.
Haha this is funny.
One time I was trying to get on my mare bareback and I'm quite short so I got half way on and was hanging there and my instructor tried to "help" and pushed my butt and I flipped over the other side. Hahha it still makes me laugh!
I was sat on my KWPN stallion - bareback and bridleless - facing the wrong way ( yes looking at his rear end ) , I accidently touched his rump with one of my toes , he gave me two small bucks, I flew over his rear and I ended up landing on my face.
i fell off walking my horse bareback haha. me & my sister were pretending to be GP jumpers and i was laying on scoutie with my hands in his forelock & my feet on his bum. he put his head down to eat grass & i flew off haha
i was on a trail ride bareback and we went under a branch and the hood of my hoodie hooked onto the branch without me knowing and it slowly pulled me off as my hrose kept walking! hahaha i was slowly slipping backwards and was like "nononononono ahhh" and the branch held me up, it was hilarious
I was getting on my friends arabian gelding bareback and i accidently bumped his bum and he decided to give me a bump of my own on my bum and buckd a little me not being all the way on landed flat on my arse laughing lol.
i was riding a young horse called treaclein the outdoor school, i was trotting down the short side when i banged my right (outside) knee on the fence ( i was on the left rein)i could feel myself falling to the left so i through all my weight into my right leg, to stop myself falling) i then fell to the right between treacle and the fence.
the silly thing is i did the same thing a week later on humbug.
in all fairness this was the first time id ridden thease horses.
both my instructor and mum were sickof filling in accident. i'd also fallen of about three weeks before.
My funniest fall was when I was 10. I was riding my mare outside with her baby following us around. Well we had just gotten rid of our cows and my brothers had taken the fence down and we were waiting for the manure to dry before piling it up (it was spring). Anyway her baby got sidetracked on one side of the manure area and I kept riding around it. Got to the other side before baby realized he was far behind us. So he started running through the manure towards us while whinnying. My mare whipped around and I slid over her head right into the wateriest manure available (I say whipped around but really she just turned around in a circle, also I should mention that we were only walking not jogging). Anyway I was soooo upset especially since the motto is that if you fall off you should get right back on, needless to say I did not get right back on as I was covered in manure. Gross.
