Anyone Have Knowledge of These QH?
We just got a small QH. She comes from some old bloodlines. Can anyone tell me is she has much foundation in her and what discipline did her predecessors have?
Would be greatly appreciated as we would like to do some team penning, reining or possibly cutting. She has been started in cutting.
I will try to add a couple of pictures when it finally stops raining up here. Here is the link to her pedigree.
Missy Lee Walla Be Quarter Horse
And yes her sire and dam had some years on them. It amazes me how far back her pedigree runs in years.
I think she would test fairly high in foundation. Her dams sire has NRHA money earners, and there are others. I think she would be great for what you are wanting to do.
Thanks, I will spend the money and send the info into the Foundation. They have an online area where you get the percentage, I think it would be worth it. I wish there was somewhere I could get more info on some of these horses since many were "pre internet" and much harder to find.
I saw that Wallaby is her great grandfather and Wallaby has a direct sister named Wallaby Sis and she excelled in Barrels, reining, and western pleasure and I believe halter. Hope that helps a bit.
She goes back to some late greats like Wimpy, Leo and Sugar Bars to name a few. I would say she definitely has foundation breeding. It would be neat to see how foundation she really is. Keep us informed please =)
Will do, come payday I am sending the fee in to find out.
Well sent it off today, should know soon. :-)
alot of those horses are in the "Quarter Horse Legends" books. Legends has Wimpy P-1 and Joe Hancock and then Legends 2 has Peter McCue...Those books are kind of neat...
Wow, they work fast. They are sending me the percentage calculation sheet with her pedigree.
Here is what I got in my email today from the FQHA.
Your request for a foundation Quarter Horse percentage calculation has been received and completed. The results are below:
MISSY LEE WALLA BE (95.3125% FQH)
Sire: CODY LEE MOORE (100% FQH)
Dam: MISSY WALLA BE (90.625% FQH)
Congratulations on your horse qualifying for FQHA registration!
I am amazed ~ I thought if she were at least 85% I would be happy.
Here are a couple of pictures, she seems to be a bit of a camera ham .
I am going to post some to see if she would be good enough quality and confirmation for a nice foundation stallion farther on down the road. Right now she is started on team penning, cutting and reining. I am hoping maybe a little WP too even though she is small. And of course trails.
Congrats on the cool foundation blood discovery! Sounds like she's got some awesome breeding and a LOT of potential! Good luck. She's beautiful, by the way.
