Recommended supplements/vitamins/minerals

My girl doesn't get grain, but I would like to supplement her grass/hay diet if need be.

She currently gets an alfalfa/timothy mix hay 3x per day and has access to a mineral block 24/7. She's an easy keeper and could get fat by looking at food.

I ride her 5 days a week: 4 flat hacks and 1-2 jumping sessions per week.

She's got great feet and a healthy shiney coat.

What is a good 'all-around' supplement?

I would just get her a multi-vitamin. Smartpak recently came out with their own line of supplements. They have supps for easy keeper, but you have to choose between either one for an alfalfa-based diet, or a grass(hay)-based diet. And since you're girl is on a mix, you would have to decide which one would be better for her. There are numerous other multi-vitamins on the page for you to check out also :)

Here they are:

Maybe check them out, find some you like and come back with questions :)

My mare is similar to yours. I use the suppliments My Beau recomends and have for a few months now. We use the EZ Keeper Grass version and it really is a nice all around suppliment. Not only is it on the cheaper side, but in includes so many extras like extra biotin, pre & pro biotics etc that you might other wise have to suppliment seperate, so they're a SUPER good value.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'll certainly look into all the suggestions.

Your horse sounds a lot like my mare! :) I actually talked to Smart Pak today bc I'm looking for the same thing and they recommended either what others above have said with the EZ Keeper or another one they highly recommended was called Augment.

I've been using Equerrys Choice when I've needed something, it's wonderful, has everything in it and is a little cheaper than SmartPak
